Raven Undergoes “training” 24th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare
Since Raven has mange, I have been advised to cage her instead of letting her roam around the house.
Step 1: Put cat in cage without closing door, let cat explore. Allow cat the freedom of walking in and out of cage so that cat does not develop negative vibes about cage.
She sniffed around, lost interest in the boring cage and came out to explore more interesting objects. I was hoping she would scratch on this sand and do her business, but she wasn’t interested.
I actually prefer to...

Villagers Aid Turtle Conservation Efforts 24th Oct 2012, by Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia
Date: 24th October 2012
By: Sean Augustin
Source: fz.com
Excited children helped transport the river terrapins to the release site.
For conservationists, putting an end to the consumption of turtle or terrapin eggs is an uphill, if not a never-ending, battle.
So the sight of villagers along Sungai Kemaman, Terengganu aiding in the research and conservation of river terrapins is an extraordinary one for Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia co-founder Chen Pelf Nyok.
Previously, to save the end...

Toys For Raven 24th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare
After work today, I dropped by the petstore to get catfood and some toys for Raven. She is still a kitten and kittens need to play.
Raven’s new toys.
She approached cautiously…
These balls seem fun…
She didn’t know what the fishpad is for.
Yes, I like the ball.
But I prefer real things, like the strap of Mummy’s bag.
Or, I just sit here and watch the big cats…until they let me in. It looks more fun inside that room.
You want to com...

A Shiny Beige-Coloured Butterfly 24th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare
Dear Friends,
I think this is the most difficult pet-death I’ve ever had to deal with. Perhaps it is the manner in which Bosco passed on, the cause of death or that I went through a roller-coaster of frantically searching for ways to help him. From one vet to another, hoping and hoping. One day it was poisoning, the next it was parvovirus, and it was back to poisoning. He got better, we were so hopeful, then he went down, then back up again, and the final blow came. It had been a mad rolle...

Bosco Fought The Good Fight And Is Now At Rainbow Bridge 23rd Oct 2012, by AnimalCare
Dear Friends,
My brave little Bosco passed away at about 6.45pm this evening. He fought the good fight and I am extremely proud of him.
I wish to thank all of you for cheering him on throughout these past few days, for standing by us and giving us all your support and kind wishes.
In all my experience thus far, I have not seen any other cat who was as strong and brave as Bosco. He has taught me so much in these past few days about acceptance, endurance, strength and serenity.
Here is Bosco’...

Adoption Spotlight 23rd Oct 2012, by SPCA Singapore
What do I see? Lots of animals looking for love. In my 7 years on the street, I managed to keep my nose clean and my (rather big) belly full. Then one day I got into an accident and my tail got a bit banged up. So someone called the SPCA, they came, took me in, patched me up and though I'm kinda old for a cat, they thought I was so lovely, they decided to keep me and find me a permanent home. So here I am waiting for my special human to come along. Even if you aren't the one, please help me by t...

The Morning Of Day 4 And Hopefully, Miracle No.2 23rd Oct 2012, by AnimalCare
I got up at 4.27am today. Unlike yesterday, I did not wake up with a bad feeling. I hope that is good.
My brood was waiting for me and never mind what time it is, when I come downstairs, it’s Breakfast Time to them and they cannot wait! At such times, knowing that those under your care have a good appetite is such a blessing, isn’t it? It means they are not sick. We must rejoice in such things and never take it for granted.
Today is Monge Breakfast Day, so they had a feast. Now, I...
