Mr G And Ginrella – A Duel 13th May 2012, by AnimalCare
As I was writing today’s blog posts, I heard a most horrible cat-fight noise right outside in Bunny’s Place.
Oh my goodness!
It’s a head-on head-butting duel between Mr G and Ginrella.
I grabbed the garbage enzyme spray but the spray wasn’t strong enough to reach them.
So I filled up the water-gun and shot at Ginrella.
The last time I tried to break up an impending fight between Cow and Bunny, I foolishly put my leg between them (what was I thinking??), and Cow s...

A Closure To Baloo’s Unexpected Demise 13th May 2012, by AnimalCare
Baloo’s demise was totally unexpected and untimely, and everyone was shocked. I wish to thank all who have expressed their condolence and kind wishes as Baloo and Baggy are very dear and special to me.
I was only determined to find out more about the possible cause of death as I wanted to safeguard Baggy, just in case it was due to some disease, we would have to do everything possible to protect Baggy.
Since a post-mortem was not done, we can only speculate what could have caused it.
The p...

Yoshee’s Adventures Today 13th May 2012, by AnimalCare
Nandhini heard about Yoshee and dropped in for a visit, with snacks for her.
Yoshee was sleeping, at mid-morning. She loves the coconut husk.
Hi, Yoshee!
For some strange reason, Yoshee slept on while Nandhini was here and as we chatted right beside her. I think Yoshee was completely konked out after all the excitement yesterday. But the moment Nandhini left the gate, Yoshee got up and wanted to play. Talk about timing….
I gave her a piece of Nandhini’s snacks. She didn̵...

Two Turtle Discovery Trips had been successfully carried out in the past two weekends, and I am glad to report that the participants had had an enjoyable time here in Cherating/Kemaman. Updates On 13th May 2012 13th May 2012, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)
An adult monitor lizard, with a length of around 1.2m, was found in a 1.5m deep drain. Her belly, a circumference of probably 55cm, seemed gravid with eggs.
While some passers-by reported individuals prodding with sticks and throwing stones, there were others who defended the monitor lizard's life.
In her natural habitat now, she lay motionless but alert, after running from the car park and into the drain, peering at each of our faces as more than 10 people surrounded the railing and looked do...

A reader shares her thoughts on the bull terrier case:
Wishing you a very Happy Mothers Day. Your work in helping animals through AnimalCare is akin Mother Theresa helping the destitute and unwanted in the slums of India. You are the Mother Theresa to abandoned and unwanted animals. Another note; Baggy is your Mothers Day gift. She is truly blessed to be a part of your family. I...

The First Cat Cafe In Vienna, Austria 13th May 2012, by AnimalCare
Take a look:
http://news.yahoo.com/video/world-15749633/c at-cafe-serves-coffee-cake-fur-29270141.html
I wonder if the idea would catch on over here.
I would think it is a step in the positive direction to cultivate the acceptance of animals into our lives, let alone compassion. Let’s work on “acceptance” first, that they can also be a part of our lives and that they are not so far divorced from us.
One step at a time.

Yoshee’s Early Morning Breakfast 13th May 2012, by AnimalCare
Yoshee was whining a little bit last night because she wanted to get into the house. She kept going to the Stargate and the kitchen window, trying to get in.
I would have let her in, but my husband says he prefers that she stays in the patio at night.
But after midnight, she was quiet and when I peeped out, she had gone to sleep. I thought I’d better sleep downstairs, just in case.
This morning, Cleo woke me up for breakfast at 5.00am.
Yoshee was still asleep. It had been a tiring day for ...

Dog Bites Dog 13th May 2012, by Second Chance
Yesterday I was showing a potential adopter some puppies from one of the kennels, suddenly Brownie and Rebecca started a fight, right in front of us.Brownie was chasing Rebecca around , behind and under the cages. I threw the pups which I was holding back into the cage and quickly ran and tried to pull Brownie away from Rebecca, whose hind leg was already being grapped. Brownie's grap at Rebecca's leg was very strong and I could not pull him out of his hard bite. I used hose ...

“Here For A Reason”, My Next Book! 13th May 2012, by AnimalCare
At long last, the comic book that I started 3 years ago has now finally gone for layout. Thanks to the delay in looking for an artist to complete the drawings (that is how hard it is to look for an artist who is willing to continue the work), I have expanded the book, with the experience gleaned from 3 years of running AnimalCare, to make it a more complete guidebook for children, their parents and everyone.
The most exciting part is that the book is bilingual (English and Chinese) and it is my ...
