VERY URGENT – Help Needed For 12 Cats (Amira Sabri’s)

Calling all cat rescuers, your help is needed.
We have no time to scold or pass judgment as the lives of these 12 cats are at stake. If you can help, please help. We will subsidise the treatment for the sake of these cats and kittens. Let’s just pool our resources together and save their lives first. AnimalCare will subsidise the treatment, but we cannot take over the cats/kittens.

Up Close With A Hoarder, And More On Hoarding

In April 2011, we received an appeal from a rescuer (at one of our events) to help a lady who was described as an “angel” to animals. Apparently, this lady keeps many animals and takes very good care of them. At least that was what we were told. We offered our medical subsidy for spay-neuter and medical treatment, but the rescuer said we should visit this lady and ask her what help she needed.
We did.
But what we saw was not anywhere near what was described to us.

Fitri Goes Home (photos!)

At long last, Fitri is home!
From Myza Nordin:
Greetings to all.
Fitri boy has been discharged on Saturday 3rd March, 2012 and I am currently fostering him. He is now on retromed1, itraconazole and antibiotic. And this will continue for another few months until the sporo is gone.
I will be taking him for blood test, vaccination once, his the wound/injury is gone.
The final bill will be posted to all by today.

Marine animals of all shapes and sizes- from sharks and smaller fish to turtles and dolphins- were in the spotlight today when we gave two talks about marine animal protection at Overseas Family School, kicking off their "Sharing the Planet" unit of enquiry. We had a great time talking to the students and hearing their ideas about how we can all help to protect the animals who live in the oceans! After some discussion, the vet suggested to bring her back to the clinic so he can monitor her closely. Further examine on the hernia, the vet decided an immediate surgery to fix it through an opening that is several inches long. According to him, it was pretty bad. The surgical procedure is scheduled for today. I’m sure she’ll be fine but please pray for her.
