Ben Passes Away (Norshidah’s) 22nd Nov 2011, by AnimalCare
Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2011/11/ben-is-unwell-agai n-norshidahs/
This morning, the vets discovered that Ben had passed away in the night. Ben was put on drips yesterday and treatment was administered.
Our only consolation is perhaps that Ben did not have to endure any prolonged suffering and he decided he would rejoin the Universal Oneness and be free and at peace now. Perhaps Ben is with his brother, Burt, now, on Rainbow Bridge.
We wish Ben a smooth journey to his next existence.
We conve...

This was sent on behalf of Ah Fatt:
Attached herewith the photographs of the 7 puppies and mother dogs that rescue by Ah Fatt from Taman Eng Aun, Klang. for your info.
Ah Fatt wants me to ask you whether you can sponsor to spay and neuter the adult dogs in that area. They can easily be caught by a homeless old uncle that feed them everyday. We can see there are 9 matured female dogs and 3 male dogs that follow the uncle when he goes there.
According to the uncle, all these female dogs were dum...

Updates On Courage After X-Ray And Acupuncture 21st Nov 2011, by AnimalCare
This ought to be a very long and detailed update, but I’ve had a very long day and my eyes could barely open, so I’ll make it short and concise without missing out on all the important points.
My friend took Courage for an X-Ray this afternoon. Courage’s spinal chord IS broken. It is the L6 vertebrae – it is broken into half and there are pieces as well. However, her lungs look “okay”, there were no major damage except for some abnormality at the ends of the l...

WHY ADOPT A PET? 为何要选择领养? 21st Nov 2011, by Homeless & Orphan Pets Exist (HOPE)
WHY ADOPT? 为何要选择领养?Every adoption saves a life. Millions of stray pups come to this world every year. Some were fortunate enough to survive, but most of the little ones die of starvation, diseases, physical abuse, accidents and most inhumanely, ended up in human’s stomach, before even get to see the humane side of the world. By adopting, you can save lives and providing the animals with love and a place they call home. Strays live in dire conditions, not knowing what hazards to...

WHY ADOPT A PET? 为何要选择领养? · 21st Nov 2011, by Homeless & Orphan Pets Exist (HOPE)
WHY ADOPT? 为何要选择领养?Have you ever wonder how is the condition like for most of the illegal puppy mill? 您是否有深思过大多数宠物店里的小 狗们从何而来? 又是否想过大多数非法动物繁殖场里 真实情况是怎么样的?Dogs here are confined in small cages and forced to breed at unhealthy rates, having several litters per year, which is extremely dangerous and cruel. The new borne are weaned from their mothers way too soon. Little attention is p...

Ben Is Unwell Again (Norshidah’s) 21st Nov 2011, by AnimalCare
Ben is Burt’s brother. He was admitted shortly after Burt, suspected to be another sporo case, but it turned out to be just bad wounds. However, the wounds were deep and quite slow in healing.
It took about two weeks before Ben was declared fit enough to be discharged, and Norshidah sent him back to her elderly mother’s place. They bought a cage and Ben was confined. During this time, he escaped once, and that was all. At other times, he was confined in the cage.
A few days ago, ac...

Courage’s First Medical Bill, Etc. 21st Nov 2011, by AnimalCare
We’ve settled Courage’s first medical bill today.
It is RM158 and this covers consultation, one night’s boarding, the distemper test and her supplements and medication – Cephalexin (antibiotics for the nasal discharge), Daneuron (B1-B12-Omega 3 & 6) and Vetri-DMG as an immune booster. Sorry I got the names of the medications all wrong in the earlier posts as it is hard to decipher the spelling over the phone!
We thank all who have sent donations to help in CourageR...

Subsiding Burt’s Final Medical Bill 21st Nov 2011, by AnimalCare
Today, Nor submitted Burt’s final medical bill. Burt was a sporo cat who underwent treatment for almost two months. Unfortunately, Burt did not show sufficient signs of improvement for the vet to carry on. So, Nor had to discharge Burt and we sourced for another vet to continue the treatment.
Burt was a neighbourhood cat who lived in Norshidah’s aged mother’s place. Her elderly mother could not foster Burt, and neither could Nor, so Nor had to board him for treatment.
Burt took...

Injured Dog Treated And Now, Recovered (Linda Suhaili’s) 21st Nov 2011, by AnimalCare
I received this from Linda Suhaili last week. We got to know each other through email when I highlighted Phaik Imm’s plight early this year. Linda and her husband (who live in Ipoh) were one of the very first to volunteer their help by going in to help Imm clear the bushes, clean up the shelter and help with the animals.
Later on, Linda also rescued a dog named Bobby whom she sent for treatment. Bobby has been rehomed since.
Here’s Linda’s email:
Hi Dr Chan,
I do hope you mi...

Cookie, Adopted Puppy Returned After One Year – For Adoption Again Now (Nandhini’s) 21st Nov 2011, by AnimalCare
Nandhini was very upset yesterday. She rescued 11 puppies from an Indian temple in Klang last year, we sponsored their vaccination and subsequently, she got them adopted one by one. Cookie was one of them.
Yesterday, Cookie’s adopter informed Nandhini that she wanted to send Cookie to the SPCA because he keeps chewing on things in the house and that has cost her a lot of money.
Nandhini is now looking for another adopter for Cookie. Please help by forwarding this link.
Here is NandhiniR...

It’s Only Kitty-3 Now 21st Nov 2011, by AnimalCare
Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2011/11/kitty-4-back-to-th e-vets/
Sad news. One of the kittens passed away a few days ago. The poor thing probably died from worm infestation. Although the vet dewormed them but it was probably too late. If you remember, the kittens had diarrhoea and two of them were quiet. One of the quiet ones passed away. The other quiet one is still quiet now.
The clinic assistant has taken them home to nurse them. I just spoke with her. She said the kittens vomited worms. This ...

Updates And Photos Of Courage 21st Nov 2011, by AnimalCare
Here are updates from my friend.
Day One:
Here’s some news on Courage but I’ll have to make it short as it’s been a long day.
Yesterday was quite a day picking up Courage, taking her to my vet for the distemper test and then taking her home. When I first saw her at the clinic and she was being taken out from the kennel she was squealing and showing her teeth and actually gave one of the clinic staff a hard nip as if to say the she was not feeling good and was hurting.
On t...

The Blueys Go For A Holiday….to Klang! 20th Nov 2011, by AnimalCare
Andy and family have gone for a holiday, so the Blueys went for their own holiday as well….to Uncle Teh’s house!
Mr Teh took the Blueys home this weekend. He had told me earlier and we thought the Blueys, being as precocious as they are, might bully his cats.
Did they?
Take a look…
With Auntie Lili and Felix Teh
Hmm…an interesting new place, isn’t it?
Mr Teh has his own cats.
Aww…Mr Teh brought the Blueys’ toys along, isn’t that nice of him?
W...

A Parvo Experience 20th Nov 2011, by AnimalCare
Mrs Wong shared this:
One Simple Step to Protect Your Dog from Deadly Parvo
by Laura Simpson
November 19, 2011
11:30 pm
Written by Katie McDougall of Virginia (USA)
I was found on a cold, wet day in March in an alley of Richmond, Virginia. I was huddled in a corner, drenched and shaking. The people who found me could tell I was a puppy, “four months old maybe” they said, and they tried to tempt me with treats but I didn’t move at all. The lady noticed I had a leaf in...
