Ruth Chow has written to me about the experimental drug, RetroMad1 being used for treatment of the parvo virus in puppies. This was my weekend on emergency call. Fortunately being on emergency call has become second nature to me. I don’t stress or sit and dread hearing the emergency phone ring anymore. I mostly do errands and have the mobile handy and my brain is wired into emergency mode!
While I have had a cruisy weekend on call in terms of the number of calls out I have had to do, it has been a very emotionally draining one.

I was at the vet's in PJ with Citta, and Brownie is boarding there as well. But I was not allowed to see Brownie as that's the clinic's policy (they had closed for the day).The vet who attended to Brownie said the prognosis is bad. Brownie's white blood count is only 0.8. Anything under 1.0 is very bad.Brownie is now on drips. Myers called saying Citta had been spotted at the playground behind the clinic. So I drove over quickly. By the time I reached, Myers said Citta had bolted towards the shopping mall. We drove around the area again to look for Citta. Did not sight her anywhere.However, the food has been eaten....The vet had put Citta's favourite canned food in the steel bowl. It's empty now, but we can't be sure if Citta ate it. The kibbles have been touched as well.Wani is bringing Citta's mother to help look for her. I have to go to the clinic again now.Updates later... The vet called me today, from out of town. Citta had run off as another vet was taking her for a walk this morning.I rushed to the clinic, got a friend to put that posting you see before this, and called Koo for help. Feeding Bobby...

Getting Bobby to eat has been a difficult task for many months now. He, as with some old people, has become extremely choosy with food.
