Catherina came down to UPM to collect Jackie's remains this morning.Jackie has been laid to rest now, back home, in Melaka. She is already in a better place now, free from suffering and pain. We wish Catherina strength, calm and peace in her heart. Time heals. Meanwhile, Catherina has already Frontlined all her other cats. JUSTICE'S SURGERY 11th Nov 2011, by Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better
Dear all,Justice is going in for his surgery tomorrow (SAT, NOV 12) and we ask of you to channel healing thoughts his way. What has happened to Justice is a very sad reflection of the blatant disregard people have for dogs here.We are still not able to fathom the reasoning, if any can be given at all, behind why so much anger was directed towards a puppy. How could anyone inflict such an injury which has severed his spinal column and chord into two?The force that had been exerted t...

Cow Is Injured (puncture-Wound Inside Ear) 11th Nov 2011, by AnimalCare
This afternoon, I noticed Cow did not look too well. He kept sleeping on the favourite chair and did not join the rest for lunch. He didn't look too good, I could feel it. I brought food for him and served him at the chair, and he ate it all up. At least that's not so worrying - he is still eating. My nightmare is when any animal stops eating. Not taking any chances, I called my vet to make an appointment. While waiting to get to the clinic, Cow finally came to the kitchen and ate ...

Thank you so much! Here it is:I truly understand Norshidah predicaments after reviewing your earlier blog on Burt's. Welcome To Singapore SPCA Online 11th Nov 2011, by SPCA Singapore
SPCA Law Review
We are proposing that failure to take care of the welfare of a pet should be an offence. Penalising an owner for not having exercised reasonable care or supervision can prevent a pet from unnecessary suffering.
Since December 2010, the SPCA has been reviewing the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals section of the Animals and Birds Act. We now seek your feedback on our "Proposal for Legislative Reform". To read the entire paper and give your feedback, go to www.spca.org.sg/lawrevie...

Pet Care Tip: In light of a recent case on Stomp about a cat allegedly beaten when it strayed into a man’s home, an SPCA supporter asked if we can educate people on what to do if they don’t want these animals straying into their homes. That’s an excellent idea indeed. We will be sharing with you some useful tips with you starting this Friday.
It is a natural instinct for cats to want to dig soil and bury their feces. If you live on a low floor and have potted plants, you may be inviting ...

Jackie Is One With The Universe Now (Catherina Tay's) 11th Nov 2011, by AnimalCare
Catherina just texted to say the vet informed her that Jackie passed away at around 6am this morning. We express our deepest condolences to Catherina for her loss. We believe Jackie fought a long and brave battle, and we hope Catherina will be comforted to know that animals will struggle on for survival only as long as is necessary. When they know they should not struggle on anymore, they will let go and be at peace with the Universe. In this way, they do not suffer unnecessarily or any lon...

Jackie's Condition Is Critical (Catherina Tay's) 10th Nov 2011, by AnimalCare
I was not home all evening, so I could not update all of you on Jackie's condition but I was on sms communication with Catherina. The vet has kept Catherina informed on Jackie's condition throughout the day. Jackie has suffered a drop in her temperature, possibly due to the toxins in her blood. At 9pm, Jackie threw a seizure, which is not a very good sign. That was the last update I received. Catherina feels that she should have brought Jackie to the Klang Valley for treatment much earlier. ...
