We had these pebbles to replace the grass as this patch is just too soggy.
Double purpose here – to address the sogginess and to prevent any cat (namely, Pole) from getting a firm foothold to jump!

Reportedly a lost dog.

MIE FINDS A NEW HOME!... Little blind kitten "Mie" found a new home last week with Belgian expat couple Ruth & Christophe who live in Khao Lak. They spotted Mie on our recent video & wanted to make this sweet little blind kitten part of their family. Ruth tells us Mie is settling in beautifully & she's very good at locating noise and sounds & has even learned to catch flies!... Thanks Ruth & Christophe for giving Mie a wonderful new life!

STUDENTS FROM PHUKET VOCATIONAL COLLEGE VISIT SOI DOG!...
Thirty students from the Phuket Vocational College visited the shelter today. They enjoyed a tour of our shelter, meeting our resident dogs & cats, learning about Soi Dog Foundation's activities & of course playing with our puppies!
Apparently the students enjoyed their visit so much, they are very keen to come back & volunteer! The students also left several big bags of dog food as a donation! Thanks guys, we look forward to seeing you ...

SWEET SAMSARA - IS SHE GOING TO CHICAGO!... How could a dog this lovely have spent almost 4 years at the Soi Dog Shelter & not been adopted! Samsara has been here since May 2008, when she was rescued from the streets, unable to survive on her own. She's incredibly sweet, friendly & loves people. She also mixes well with all the other dogs in her run & would make a wonderful addition to a family. Samsara is approx 4 years old.

Adopted: 3-Month Old Swee San!

Little pup Swee San found a home last December and a loving owner in her adopter, Nicholas Chu. Accompanied by his father, the 15-year old was excited about having a dog in the house to play with for the first time, and wanted to pick one out himself.He couldn't resist the charm of the 3-month old Swee San, and we are very glad to see her find a new home.Thank you Nicholas and family for giving Swee San a home!

We have a flight volunteer flying from Bangkok to Chicago on 27th February & a very kind Soi Dog Supporter has offered to pay for a dog to travel on this flight for FREE! A few of the ones that did not make it. (Photo taken today by Khun Bee). The floods interrupted our efforts to stop the trade. We are now back fighting it. Over 6,000 dogs intercepted in past 2 weeks. We are doing all we can but need funds to combat it. We know of at least 4,000 that were not intercepted despite authorities being informed. Catfood For Pak Din And Other News

We sponsored a bag of catfood for Pak Din’s 8 cats from our Food Fund and Chew brought it over on Friday. Here are some updates:
Delivered the cat food which I collected on friday to Pak Din and brought Lim along to see his place.
Today collected a mattress,bedsheets, some utensils, new and old clothings, towels, piece of tapauline and bag of rice from Joy and sent them to Pak Din.
Good news is yesterday the supervisor lady from the orphanage agreed to allow Pak Din to stay at present loca...

ONE THAT GOT AWAY. Your donations are not only helping us fight the trade but also to get some of the dogs out and to new homes. June was one of 22 dogs transported last week to Bangkok from Nakhom Phanom.
Currently at Soi Dogs Flood transit center in Sukhumvit 71, but will fly to Phuket tomorrow to continue treatment before flying to a new home in San Francisco. Sadly the transit center will have to close shortly as the location has now been let by the owner, but many thanks to him for allowing...
