TRAPPED DOG IN-BETWEEN FENCING RESCUED
On Saturday, 21 November 2015, we received a call for assistance, for a dog trapped in between the home perimeter fence along Chu Lin Road.
Our quick thinking staff, Mohan and Suntharam applied shampoo on the dog’s body and skilfully eased the dog from being stuck in that position. The rescue mission was accomplished in 20 minutes.
The dog is currently with SPCA and we are trying to locate the owner.
We thank our informer, Ms Qian Qi for alerting ...

TWO WEEKS TO THE STANDARD CHARTERED MARATHON – SUZZIE’S STORY
Sadly, our local wild animals can sometimes get caught in snares that have been set up illegally. You may be surprised to know that these snares can sometimes be found in Singapore’s nature reserves and parks. Let’s take a look at Suzzie, a young female macaque who fractur...

And A Chicken Came A-Visiting! 23rd Nov 2015, by AnimalCare
A few days ago, we had an unexpected visitor.
It was after the rain in the evening and I was in the kitchen when I thought I distinctly heard the sound of clucking.
“Clucking” as in chickens.
And the sound appeared to be in our garden too.
So I went out and saw this…
Yes, that’s a chicken alright!
Mr Zurik to me: There’s a chicken in our garden.
Yes, Mr Zurik, I can see that, and it’s really nice of you not to chase it. Thank you.
The chicken made herself...

Great Dane Changes Girl's Life

Snowy for Adoption — Kepong, KL
http://PetFinder.my/pets/72901
We have an unusual friend to introduce today. Snowy is a rat rescued from a lab that would've probably ended up dissected if not for her brave owners.
However, his rescuers are now done with college and no one could take care of him anymore. They are looking for someone with experience in caring for rats and understands how loving and sweet they can be. Oh, Snowy here loves bananas and lettuce too!
If you're interested in a litt...

ALONE WE CAN DO SO LITTLE; TOGETHER WE CAN DO SO MUCH – HELEN KELLER
This picture was taken in 2013 during the construction of the Main Sanctuary Area at the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre (AWRC). It was the monsoon season and every single day, the dedicated ACRES volunteers, together with our staff, had to shower in the rain whilst creating new homes for the animals!
Our amazing volunteers are sincere, they are dedicated, and they are the ones who go through rain and shine with us. Nothing...
