Who Destroyed Daffodil’s Bomb Shelter? 6th Aug 2014, by AnimalCare
This happened a few weeks ago, and it has also taken a few weeks to rectify the problem.
Daffodil has several “bomb shelters”. These are boxes that she feels safe in. As you know, Daffodil has lived on the streets for more than 10 years as a street cat before we moved here and provided her with a safe place to, hopefully, call “home”, at least a safe place to run back to in case of any danger on the street or in the playground which she sometimes frequents.
It has taken u...

To animal advocates faced with the harsh reality of this situation, it is abundantly clear that we have an enormous amount of work to do to shift society’s current paradigm from one of unimaginable and extreme violence to one of relatively peaceful sanity. We hope to find a suitable place, with low rental to build our new heaven for the animals. If you know of anyone who can make an offer to us, please contact 012-5523447 (Mdm. Tan).

Shared by Jasmine: http://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-14741/10- reasons-to-pet-a-dog-every-day.html
There’s nothing like the unconditional love of a dog. But, researchers are finding there are many more reasons to love your dog than you may have initially thought.
Playing with your dog brings a whole slew of health benefits with it, from reduced blood pressure to improved fitness levels and decreased stress. I like to say, “A pet a day keeps the doctor away.”
And a dog will be loyal unti...

“It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.”
― Mother Teresa
ABOUT THIS PHOTO: This photo was taken at the FRIEND animal shelter in Ukraine. Volunteers here have an indomitable spirit and are so thankful that there has been no shelling in their immediate vicinity. Soon we'll be helping raise funds to get the Ukraine animal shelters through the approaching winter. We need to buy both food and fuel to be sure the animals are protected form being hungry and cold.

Pole’s Leg Injury 5th Aug 2014, by AnimalCare
Pole has never been injured before.
Pole has always been super-confident and she’s always got her act together. At 100%, nothing less.
But today, something “terrible” happened to Pole. “Terrible” by the diva’s standards.
I don’t know if you’ve noticed that my work table was already doomed. All four supposedly “stainless” steel legs (which I found out was not “stainless steel”, but chrome plated – yes, I was duped) had ...

IF YOUR DOG SHAKES HIS EARS ALOT: CHECK HIS FOOD BOWL
Does your dog paw at his ears? Does he whimper when you touch his ears? Is there brown discharge in your dog's ears? Perhaps your dog is also itching and biting at other parts of his body? If the problem is chronic, did you ever consider what's in your dog's dish could be to blame.
Meet Parker. At 70 pounds, he is still a lap dog and nothing can stop him from catching a tennis ball. His ears were so inflamed that they bled from the tips. Hi...

For this weeks update on animal care at ACRES, we are doing something a bit different. We are going to take a look at an animal whom the ACRES team rescues from time to time, although we shouldn’t be. We are going to look at a reptile that’s so very often abandoned that their population has caused significant problems for our native animals. An animal whom is so commonly and openly sold that most often, people buy them as pets...without giving enough thought about the future of the animal(gr...

Mobile Uploads 5th Aug 2014, by MDDB & MCCP Penang
This dog was found caught back to MPSP DOG POUND with a license tag.
We usually will help to locate the owners for those who comes with a tag. This one was no difference. We tried to reunite him with his owner but unfortunately the owner told us he does not want him anymore.
He said that dog is old and when they release him out, he will go disturb people. We asked him back then why did he simply release the dog out without supervision and he could not answer.
We clearly made known to him th...

"DON'T WORRY BUNNY, YOU'LL LIKE IT HERE"
Recently rescued Isis the cat lends a bit of assurance to a bunny named Ruby who escaped a bitter end last week. Ruby was living with a family who saved her from an uncle's rabbit meat farm two years ago. But after raising her in their home, they grew tired of her.
"It's a good thing you came," Ruby's guardian told Harmony Fund Founder Laura Simpson. "My sons were about to eat her."
Yes, she was sincere. The adult sons wanted to try their hand at th...

Here's a young macaque who must have gotten so exhausted from morning play that she decided to close her eyes as soon as she found a comfortable branch to cling on to! The ACRES Macaque Team captured this shot and waited for a good 20-30 minutes before she woke up!
Got interesting shots of macaques? Come share them with us here with your name, and where you took the photo! We'll select a few and post them on our Instagram page, @...
