Medical Subsidies For 3 Dogs (Kimberly Ong Bee Kin’s) 7th Jan 2014, by AnimalCare
When we made the announcement that we would no longer provide medical subsidies, the applicants with outstanding medical claims were informed and given the options or either applying to other organisations or making a final claim from us. Kimberly Ong said she had already posted the forms, so we will honour her claims.
We have thus paid out the following claims:
Johnny’s skin treatment = RM15 (we did not subsidise the cost of the shampoo)
Terrier’s last heartworm treatment (follow-up...

Eve is back home in the wild!
After 2 weeks of rehabilitation, Eve- the macaque rescued by ACRES on Christmas Eve- has been released back to her home at MacRitchie Reservoir Park! With professional veterinary care provided by Dr. Lee and the Veterinary Nurses at ARVRC, her wounds healed up and she regained her strength.
Upon release, Eve gracefully stepped out from the carrier and carefully made her way up a tree. The Macaque Rescue Team watched her for a while to make sure she was doing fin...

Best Friends Forever: Dog Loyally Guards Paraplegic Cat 7th Jan 2014, by PetFinder.my
In this dog-eat-dog world, we should all be so lucky as to have a friend like Idgie -- a friend who refuses to leave our side, even if we're lame and lying in the dirt by a busy road.
That's how Seminole County Animal Services found Idgie -- a pudgy 2-year-old Dachshund -- standing guard over a 7-month-old paraplegic cat. It was early October and still hot, and someone apparently had dumped the animals by a gated driveway outside Geneva, perhaps hoping the homeowner would take pity on them.
Id...

Did you know that only 1 in 10,000 turtle hatchlings survive to adulthood? From the moment they are laid, turtle eggs are vulnerable to predators, both human and animal. Hatchlings racing for the sea will have to avoid attacks by sea birds, clamber over mountainous rubbish, avoid being confused by nearby lighting, as well as avoid being eaten by nearshore fishes and crabs. Help save turtles here: http://wwf.org.my/turtle

The Door Story 7th Jan 2014, by AnimalCare
The door had been in really bad shape…
With three titans spraying on it nonstop every day, you can imagine how bad the door is by now.
The polycarbonate had long dropped off (the double-sided tape is long gone too and the whole thing just fell out). So I had been wiping something to the tune of 20 times per day. I think this door suffers the most as it’s where the titans can see the PatioCats, so it irritates them to the hilt, so they spray to mark and tell the PatioCats who the rea...

Mr Zurik’s Training Starts All Over Again… 7th Jan 2014, by AnimalCare
Just when I thought Mr Zurik had learnt his lesson (that he cannot intimidate Willy) and we have been water-gun free for two whole days, it started all over again…
The water-gun had to be recalled to the scene.
He was trying his tricks again and only the water-gun could keep him at bay so that Willy could at least finish his meal.
He’d do all sorts of things like hiding inside the drain, hiding under the car, etc. just to ambush Willy.
It’s like a cat-and-mo...

Tiger Completes His Antibiotics 7th Jan 2014, by AnimalCare
Tiger’s final dose of antibiotics was yesterday evening.
His appetite had been good throughout the whole week while he was under medication. In fact, on the very evening after seeing the vet, he had already started recovering. He even allowed us to touch his paw.
So everything was really going well until yesterday noon when he didn’t seem well again. He was afraid to eat and would only do so if the titans were kept at bay. Something wasn’t quite right.
By night time, he start...

THE STORY OF MIDNIGHT... ARE YOU IN IT?
Massachusetts Adopter Needed
My name is Danee and I am an Emergency Clinic Veterinarian in Massachusetts. Late in the evening on December 29th, two young men brought their young (approximately 1 year old) cat in to our ER. They had become concerned because it seemed that their cat, named Midnight, had developed a swollen abdomen, and seemed to be in pain. These young men obviously cared about Midnight, but they really had no idea how to care for a pet. In...

Kuning Boy in Petaling Jaya
http://www.petfinder.my/pets/52472
Poor Kuning Boy, always wearing that what-did-I-do face on him.
The boy is very friendly and has a sweet disposition, thus ended up being bullied by other cats. He even allows females to slap him silly and yet doesn’t retaliate at all. A true, good man that all females desire, eh?
Hurry up and adopt him before we end up lodging a report of domestic violence for the poor boy.
Kuning Boy is actually white, but shhh... D...
