Opal For Adoption 5th Apr 2012, by Second Chance
This is Opal. She is very playful and loves moving about. Opal doesnt look like the typical dog. She has a little of that terrier look. And her brown hair is longer than average dogs with shades of black. It would be good if Opal can find an owner with a home that has space for her to run outside as she enjoys her exercise and play. She is friendly with humans and love crowding your feet to greet you. She also enjoys bathing. Picture below shows Opal being bathed by one of our volunte...

Urgent! Fosterer Needed For Two Newborn Kittens (Khao Yen Ling’s) 5th Apr 2012, by AnimalCare
Last night, Yen Ling texted me at midnight. A mother-cat had apparently left her two newborns in a flower-pot. As Yen Ling was hoping the mother-cat would return, but she was worried about them, I told Yen Ling to place towels to keep them as warm as possible. The kittens were crying, which probably meant they were hungry, so I told Yen Ling to give them glucose water if she did not have kitten milk. Yen Ling did not have glucose water, so she gave them oats water instead.
The mother-cat still h...

‘Tis The Season To Be Fighting? 4th Apr 2012, by AnimalCare
Two days ago, we suddenly heard the sound of ferocious cat-fight from Mr G’s house. There was obviously a huge fight there and my brood was stunned. That evening, we waited with bated breath to see if Mr G would come for supper, and come he did, and we were relieved he wasn’t hurt.
This morning, the Indy-Cow animosity which had been mounting for days came to a head.
A big fight broke out between the two black-and-whites, not once but twice!
This is what happened this morning:
It star...

Calling For Animal-Lovers In Ipoh 4th Apr 2012, by AnimalCare
This is a request from Joy E. Saga (joyelia@hotmail.com):
Noah’s Ark Ipoh (NAI) is organising a peaceful protest against the shooting and maiming of dogs by MBI that we discovered today. Some dogs were shot but not killed. They were left where they were shot, together with those that died. At a tip-off, one of members went to rescue those dogs that did not die to be treated at a Vet who is also a member of NAI. This happened today.
The aim is to get as many animal lovers to come and stan...

Ah Zee Left…and Came Back 4th Apr 2012, by AnimalCare
This is one fantastic account, from our reader, Melle:
Ah Zee, my cat, had a stroke attack last year in April. Took him to vet and he stayed there for a few days for meds and recovered. He was fine and well until January this year, he had another attack where he walked tilted to one side with poor sense of balance, i.e. cannot jump off ledge. Again, I took him to vet and he was diagnosed with vestibular disease and possible brain tumor. Vet asked if I’d like to do MRI scan but after di...

Pictorial Dedication To The Most Loyal Friend On Earth 4th Apr 2012, by AnimalCare
In conjunction with World Stray Animal Day (4th April), we would like to make a special pictorial dedication to our most loyal friends on earth.
Photos sent in by Chew (many thanks!).
We do not condone the use of animals in the battlefield, but since humans use them, the following photographs is our tribute to the animals. We can only hope humans will fight their own battles and leave the dogs and horses out of them.
