The Art Of Surviving The Losses 19th Jul 2011, by Dr Rayya's Online Veterinary Journal
I have only been back to work for two days after having two weeks off and this is what I already look like.
I feel very distressed because I have already lost a few very special patients and it is only Tuesday. However, part of being a veterinarian is you need to learn to store that deflation away to remain functional and effective in treating the rest of your patients. You must develop an emotional coping strategy that will help boost your spirits and help you digest losses and learn from t...

It is estimated that about more than 100,000 healthy pets are euthanized annually because there just aren't enough room at the shelters and they simply have no where else to go. In United states alone, 3 to 4 million pets are put to sleep at shelters yearly due to the same problem. The only solution to curb and control this issue is only by spaying and neutering. Many regard spaying and neutering to be inhumane from the religious point of view or simply some may think it is just not important to ...

We had already ordered the dogfood and was awaiting confirmation of the availability of the lorry. The confirmation only came last night at 11pm. Amy Tham and I had planned to go together this time, so we started off at 9.30am this morning to Amy Lim's shop to wait for the lorry. I would drive and Amy would navigate since I'm completely hopeless with directions. I don't even know how to get to Genting Highlands from Subang Jaya, so....that's why I needed Amy! Here's the food.Unf...

Spider Calf 18th Jul 2011, by Dr Rayya's Online Veterinary Journal
This is a rare case and I actually did not see this calf myself.
This little calf was born alive with a major abnormality: an extra set of legs attached to his own head! There are a few calves that are born with a variety of such abnormalities but most of them usually die a few days after birth.

My colleague Tony at Naracoorte and Penola clinic dealt with this case and was...

JULY ADOPTION DRIVE AT JAYA ONE 18th Jul 2011, by Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better
The JAYA ONE adoption drive Sunday drew a big crowd and we are happy that about 13 puppies and dogs found new homes. Given that two cats had also been adopted at the drive, we have decided to also have cats at all our future adoption drives. Something strange is also happening as several stray pregnant cats have 'checked' themselves...
