Brownie Is In Bad Shape - Please Send Prayers 31st Jul 2011, by AnimalCare
I was at the vet's in PJ with Citta, and Brownie is boarding there as well. But I was not allowed to see Brownie as that's the clinic's policy (they had closed for the day). The vet who attended to Brownie said the prognosis is bad. Brownie's white blood count is only 0.8. Anything under 1.0 is very bad.Brownie is now on drips. There is no force-feeding as it might make the condition even worse. As I drove home, I checked with our vet and he concurs that force-feeding might be detrimental on the f...

The Chitta Mimi Chronicles 31st Jul 2011, by Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better
MIMI CHITTA, MUMMY AND MEI CHEEWhen we received a call this morning informing us that Chitta and broken free and was running wild in SS17 Subang Jaya, we were at our wits end.Apparently she had broken free from her leash when the vet had taken her for her routine morning walk.We know for a fact that being Sunday, the traffic in that area would be very heavy and worried that the worst could happen to Chitta.Luckily for us the clinic had also called Dr Chan Kah Yein from Animalcare who immediatel...

Citta Caught - Safe And Sound! 31st Jul 2011, by AnimalCare
Myers called saying Citta had been spotted at the playground behind the clinic. So I drove over quickly. By the time I reached, Myers said Citta had bolted towards the shopping mall. Gosh, she has crossed the mainroad again! This was about 6.30pm and it was peak hour traffic. I drove over to the shopping mall and there was Citta, right there at the parking lot. She was very restless and clearly, she was trying to get back to the clinic. But traffic was SO bad and she was very scared.&n...

We drove around the area again to look for Citta. Did not sight her anywhere. However, the food has been eaten....The vet had put Citta's favourite canned food in the steel bowl. It's empty now, but we can't be sure if Citta ate it. The kibbles have been touched as well.Wani is bringing Citta's mother to help look for her. I have to go to the clinic again now.Updates later... UPDATES at 5.45pm: I met the vet at the clinic. Two volunteers, Myers and Colin, were also there to help. ...

Ref: http://www.myanimalcare.org/2011/07/winn ie-low-sends-her-rescues-for-spay.htmlWinnie contacted me this morning, just before Citta's emergency. Brownie stopped eating yesterday and does not look well at all. I told Winnie not to delay; Brownie needs a vet's attention. This is Brownie just before Winnie brought him to the vet's.Tests were done, and Brownie is diagnos...

The Search For Citta 31st Jul 2011, by AnimalCare
The vet called me today, from out of town. Citta had run off as another vet was taking her for a walk this morning.I rushed to the clinic, got a friend to put that posting you see before this, and called Koo for help. Koo was at MidValley, but he said he would come. At the clinic, the vet who took her for a walk told me Citta had wriggled out of her collar and bolted. She trailed Citta several times around the block; Citta was just running round and round the block. But at one point, Citta...

Feeding Bobby... 31st Jul 2011, by AnimalCare
Getting Bobby to eat has been a difficult task for many months now. He, as with some old people, has become extremely choosy with food. And we also don't know if some sort of senility has set in (Bobby will turn 15 this October), or he is just plain strong-willed as he had always been all his life! Or, maybe, too much association with the cats have rubbed off some cat characteristics in him, ie. "you stand your ground, don't have to pander to what 'em humans want you to do, we cats don't do that...

http://malaysiandogsdeservebetter.blogspot.com/sea rch/label/Goldie%20and%20the%20witchMDDB is happy to report that Goldie is doing well in spite of the nightmare THE WITCH had put her through. Goldie had gone through energy healing and acupuncture and this has helped her a great deal. She has also put on weight and is no longer frightened. Pretty…pretty…pretty…birdie 30th Jul 2011, by Dr Rayya's Online Veterinary Journal
Meet Our Larry
‘Larry’ is our very loved galah parrot. He is obnoxious, hilarious, lovable and cheeky just like Larry David. We adopted him at 9 months of age to help us get over the tragic loss of our previous parrot ‘Nachos’. He was hand raised and was already starting to talk and was mostly used to females. However, my husband has managed to win his love over and convert him to a more male-oriented bird.
The tricky thing with parrots is they will over bond with on...

About Lilac 30th Jul 2011, by AnimalCare
Lilac was an injured pet, brought in by her owner to the vet's. Her leg was broken and the owner wanted her euthanised. Two rescuers intercepted and called me to ask if we could sponsor Lilac's surgery. An extremely long and complicated story cut short, for the sake of saving Lilac's life, I agreed to sponsor but someone would have to take responsibility for Lilac after the surgery. One of the rescuers agreed to foster Lilac before returning her to the owner. The owner's ...

Karuna On Homeground Again 30th Jul 2011, by AnimalCare
I was facilitating a course at the temple today, so I went to see Karuna after the talk. She was so happy to see me! She didn't look so sad anymore now.Let's go for a walk, Karuna. This is the playground which used to be her home. She seemed very at home and again, was attracted to the cars on that main road. I had to pull her back again. I do wonder if she wants to cross that main road to go home...? But that road is next to impossible to cross. After the walk around the playground, I...
