⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The day we visited him happened to be my birthday! Karl greeted us by standing on his hind legs and wagging his tail. My partner gave the nod and we went ahead with the adoption.

Happy Tales Chloe. Jason When My Kids And I Entere.. 31st Aug 2020, by SPCA Singapore
Happy Tales: Chloe
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Jason: “When my kids and I entered the shelter area, every dog was barking and Chloe was the only one who was sitting upright, looking right at us! Our initial plan was to adopt puppies but the adoption counsellor said Chloe was more suited for us as puppies needed more attention. Fate had it that the previous person who expressed interest in adopting her never showed up, so we adopted her right after.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
She was a little...

HAPPY TALES: DAISY
Christy & Lee: “I was heartbroken when Duke (also adopted from SPCA) passed away due to old age in April 2019. After half a year, we decided to adopt another dog. When we first saw Daisy, she was tiny, timid and easily spooked. But I thought that with our experience and my therapy dog, Dobby, we could offer her a loving home.
When we brought Daisy home, she immediately ran from us and hid under our bushy bamboo. It took us 3 days to pat her and for the first 1-2 weeks we...

Spca Clinic Cat With Face Wound. A Kind Community .. 18th Aug 2020, by SPCA Singapore
SPCA CLINIC: CAT WITH FACE WOUND
A kind community caregiver spotted this 5-year old cat with a face wound in Jurong West. 🤕 He was then brought to SPCA to have his wound stitched up.
#Vetfact: Did you know that surgical wounds are often bigger than original wounds? This is due to ‘surgical debridement’ — the removal of unhealthy and infected body tissue before stitching up, to improve wound healing.
This handsome man has since made a full recovery and was released at the location wh...

HIGH-RISE SYNDROME (HRS)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Did you know that the SPCA receives at least 250 reports a year of cats falling from height? That’s 5 cases a week!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
House cats can be distracted by birds, lose balance on a window sill, sneak into neighbours’ homes, or even leap out of the window due to loud thunder/vacuum sounds.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And such accidents can be easily prevented. That’s why we ask cat adopters to mesh their windows and g...

As part of the enrichment program for long-term stayers, Baxter was introduced to Nosework; an excellent form of dog enrichment for mental stimulation and relaxation t...

OUR SINGAPORE SPECIALS: KEIJI (UP FOR ADOPTION) 🇸🇬
When Keiji was given up by his previous owners in 2018, we discovered his fear of people ‘stealing’ his toys. He loved chasing balls but disliked people taking them away. He would stand over the ball, clutching it with his paws or hovering his mouth over it. ⚽🐕 But now, he loves playing fetch! 😃
Watch the video to see how our volunteer dog mentors helped him. He may have had a rough past but he has been patiently waiting for...

OUR SINGAPORE SPECIALS: SPIKE (UP FOR ADOPTION)
Spike has been looking for a family for 8 years. 🐶 He is a fearful dog who is still learning to be comfortable with humans. Our volunteer dog mentors decided to include the muzzle game in his training to help him in situations where handling is needed, e.g. vet visits, ear cleaning.
To form a positive association with muzzles, our volunteers first gave him treats whenever they showed muzzles to him. After many sessions and advancing only when...
