Zurik’s Check-Up (150ml Fluids Drawn Out)
19th Jul 2019, by AnimalCare

Today was Zurik’s check-up. There was no increase in fluids in his left and right lung cavities. It looks like there is no more fluid leakage in these two places. However, there appeared to be a slight increase in the abdominal fluids. Initially the vet thought it would not be necessary to draw out the fluids as the fluids were still interspersed in the layers of fat, but finally decided to do so. A total of 150ml fluids was drawn out. There could have been more, but the vet did not want t...

Don't be fooled by her strong appearance! Teddy (C091) is actually one of the most affectionate cat in the shelter! Anyone who visits her will definitely fall in love with her friendly charm. If you want a cuddle buddy that acts like a teddy bear that actually hugs you back, why not give this lovely ...

750 DOGS WAITING FOR MEALS ______________________________ This is Sasha Pesic's free running dog sanctuary in Serbia. Here the dogs don't live in kennels. Instead they roam the grounds, enjoy friendships, play and explore. It's the next-best-thing to home that we can provide for these rescued dogs who came from the worst of circumstances. Some still bear the physical scars. Others hide them inside. But all are HEALING here. (All are spayed/neutered) As the primary year-round sponsor of the d...

Heidi, Our Loyal Taiji Cat
18th Jul 2019, by AnimalCare

Heidi has been following us for taiji for the longest time now.  It’s been many years. She has her own routine at the park too. First, she will roll around in the basketball court, then she goes to her “secret stash” of grass. Sometimes, if in the mood, she does sprints in the park and even climbs up a tree! The trip out must be AT LEAST 45 minutes or so, otherwise, she won’t be satisfied and will not come home with us. There has to be enough time for her to do her e...

Turtles Boltz (pictured), Andrea, Ayu, Audrey and tortoises, Comot and Comet, were repatriated back to Malaysia last year. It was a much-deserved second chance at life, following their harrowing experience as victims in the black market trade of exotic pets in #Singapore. And so, the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre continues to be the halfway house for rescued exotics like Boltz and friends to, where possible, return these sentient beings where they truly belong--home! Learn more about our other...

Bornean Orangutans In Sustainably Managed Forests
18th Jul 2019, by WWF Malaysia

WWF-Malaysia's latest findings conclude that Bornean #orangutans have maintained their population numbers in the sustainably managed forests of Deramakot and Ulu Segama, Sabah, ensuring that the conservation of the orangutans is on track. However, we can still do more to protect the species. The orangutans' survival in isolated forest patches will depend on the creation of wildlife corridors that will link fragmented forests together, allowing the species to breed as well as to travel for food a...

Neutering Aid For 1 Cat In Sitiawan (Chew Huey Yik’s)
17th Jul 2019, by AnimalCare

We have provided an aid of RM80 for the neutering of this cat. Dear Dr.Chan, I am writing to apply neutering aid for this female cat. I found her at my friend’s neighborhood which is located at Sitiawan. She was around one and a half months old that time. Worrying that she might be in danger and continuously to stay in the unhealthy environment, I decided to bring her home and I have been taken care of her for 5 months. After she is physically ready for spaying surgery I brought her to do...
