Updates On 12th Apr 2016 12th Apr 2016, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)
BYE BYE YOYO – STAY SAFE!
Yoyo, a long-tailed macaque, was rescued in Yishun on the 13th of March 2016. At the time of rescue, he was in shock with visible head and facial injuries, including to both eyes. The nature of his injuries, and the fact that he was found in the middle of a road, strongly indicated that Yoyo had been hit by a vehicle.
We immediately took Yoyo to the Animal Recovery Veterinary Referral Centre (ARVRC), where the veterinary team wasted no time in attending to him.

Water Tub Saves Strays From Summer Scorcher In Delhi 11th Apr 2016, by AnimalCare
With our heatwave over here, will we be needing this too?
http://www.care2.com/causes/tubs-of-water-sav e-strays-from-summer-scorcher.html
INDIA– Every dog in Delhi has a long tongue this morning. It’s over 100 degrees Fahrenheit (40 C) with four months of blazing summer heat on the way. Finding shade is of massive importance for the stray animals here, but so is the search for clean drinking water. One small rescue team is taking that responsibility very seriously.

The Myth Of The Finicky Cat 11th Apr 2016, by AnimalCare
Lots to learn about cats in this article: http://feline-nutrition.org/the-blog s/the-myth-of-the-finicky-cat
One of the questions I get asked most is what to do about a cat that doesn’t want to eat the new raw meat diet you are offering. I hear words like “stubborn” and “finicky.” While that may describe what’s going on, it is from a decidedly human perspective. I think it’s time to delve into a little cat psychology to help us understand what&rsq...

Tabs Eats BARF Too 11th Apr 2016, by AnimalCare
When I first brought home the very first pack on Friday night, Tabs ate a meal of BARF but after that, she didn’t want it anymore. Coco & Joe already told me that this happens often – the cat would appear to like it a lot, then goes off it for a few days. It’s quite normal, they said.
Indy appears to be uninterested in BARF since yesterday though he still eats it. Bunny still loves it, but he vomits if he is given too much. Bunny has this vomiting problem whenever he eats ...

Vincent, The Soldier, Is Back In Action!! 11th Apr 2016, by AnimalCare
Vincent has been doing very well ever since his tooth extraction and the steroids were administered into his inflamed gums.
I am still amazed at how fast and well he turned around after the surgery.
When I brought home Coco & Joe’s BARF on Friday, Vincent wanted some too, so I gave him some. As it turned out, he loved it so much that he even tried to eat the BARF off the bowls of Daffodil. Today, he went up against Ginger for the BARF.
I read that BARF is good for the immune system as...

Why Feeding Raw And Dry At The Same Time Is Not Encouraged 11th Apr 2016, by AnimalCare
We often think that it’s best to mix a little of the new food with the old food to get our animals adjusted gradually to the new food.
Well, when transitioning from dry to raw, this is not encouraged.
Here’s why: http://feline-nutrition.org/answers/answ ers-feed-raw-and-dry-at-the-same-time
If a cat is fed high-carbohydrate food (dry food) at the same time as raw food, the carbohydrates can interfere with the efficient absorption of the nutrients in the raw food, potentially c...

Furry Companions Need New Home / 为猫儿们找个温暖的家。 11th Apr 2016, by SPCA Ipoh
TIRED of seeing cats in her neighbourhood being tortured or run over by vehicles, Helen Lim and her husband decided to take care of all 40 to 50 of them.
For almost 20 years, the two animal lovers had no qualms about letting the cats take up most of the living space in their small flat.
With no children to dote on, the married couple had even spent most of their hard-earned money on cat food, cat litter and cages for their new furry companions.
At one time, the number of cats had doubled to ov...
