Unlike Bugs Bunny, rabbits should not eat carrots often, due to the latter's high sugar content. At most half a baby carrot, once every three to four days, may be given as a 'treat'.
A supply of hay, preferably Timothy Hay, should be readily available for rabbits to chew on. A variety of green, leafy vegetables like bok choy, broccoli, cabbage and kale can be very nutritious as well. However, a rabbit owner should not be giving the rabbit too many vegetables all at once but introduce the veget...

We would like to thank my mum’s long-time friend for donating to our fund by “adopting” this blanket! And also, for ordering another blanket as well!
This cloth is donated by Ms Ooi and I matched it with some of our own cloth.
This is the second Happy Home blankie made from the same cloth.
The cloth has been fully used up now.
The backing is done by my mum, with cloth donated by Agnes Cheong.
Thank you, everyone!

MACAQUES AT THE MANGROVE
You’ve often seen and heard of our ‘Singapore monkeys’ making their presence known at urbanised areas, forest edges and the outskirts of nature reserves. But how many of you have seen them at the mangroves?
This picture was captured in Ponggol, where a small troop of macaques were seen feeding at the mangroves. They spent their time foraging for crabs, and have also been seen eating frogs, shrimp and octopus. In addition, the younger individuals enjoy splashing i...

Cats Stealing Your Sh*t 4th May 2015, by PetFinder.my
Cats Stealing Your Sh*t
Recently released crime statistics suggest that robbery is on the rise worldwide. The new breed of criminals are sly, ruthless, and totally unrepentant. To make matters worse, they are deceptively cute.
Check out some of their mugshots on http://PetFinder.my, and if you'd like to rehabilitate one of these robbers, go ahead and adopt! :-)

Two batches of dogs were found outside our shelter while we were closed yesterday.
Please, please do not do this. We appreciate that you are trying to help, but dumping animals on us, especially while we are facing an overcrowding issue is a huge burden to us and it worsens our ability to help as a whole.

#didyouknow that white tigers are not a subspecies of it's own? As beautiful as they are, there is an ugly truth behind them. White tigers are created from a recessive gene. They are bred through inbreeding of tigers which leads to many health problems and deformities, causing white tigers to have shorter lifespans.
Make a symbolic adoption and bring home a cute orange tiger soft toy while helping us save Malayan Tigers in the wild at http://bit.ly/1IC31el
We think orange tigers are prettier an...

RESCUED ANIMALS HAVE GREENER SURROUNDINGS, THANKS TO ST. ANDREW’S JUNIOR COLLEGE STUDENTS!
On the 7th of April, we welcomed a group of 20 students from St. Andrew’s Junior College to the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre. They spent a whole day planting new plants and small trees in the Outdoor Sanctuary Area, making the area even more wild and green for the reptilian residents.
What makes their contribution even more special is that not only did they put in the hard work with the gardening; ...
