Back to Lao PDR to continue our efforts in ending bear farming there. It’s been 29 months since I first visited Lao PDR and met my first bear in a bear farm. This 13th trip to Lao PDR is dedicated to this bear who held my hand and wanted nothing but compassion and affection despite all the cruelty we humans have inflicted on her. She died the next day after we held hands. Rest assured my friend, you will not be forgotten and your death will not be in vain… We promise.

10 Packs Of Dogfood For Meiji’s Dogs

Today, we purchased 10 packs of Sportsmix Adult Dogfood for Meiji’s dogs. Meiji told me that she prefers our monthly RM200 for the sponsorship of Russell, Sweetie, Jackie and Doby to be converted into dogfood.
So, we topped it up from our Food Fund to RM886.40 to purchase 10 packs of food this round.
Meiji needs two packs of food each day to feed her 135 dogs.
We also hope our readers who have pledged to help with the Sponsor-a-Dog programme at RM50 per dog will bank in their pledges to Me...

I met Meiji today when she came to collect our food subsidy of 10 packs of food for her dogs, and Meiji told me all about Curly, one of her many dogs.

"We went to the restaurant this morning but the wanton mee seller (Mr Wai) was not in. Talked to the owner of Lucky restaurant and apparently 2 government officials came yesterday (the owner said they wore uniforms) and told the Mr Wai that he has to go to their office in Shah Alam today otherwise he will be locked up in the police station (we assume they are from DVS!). My cousin forwarded this story to me, and it is quite apt as we are now looking for Ofie. It may help, too, that my friend, Mary, lost her childhood cat, Vicky, and after one year, a neighbour spotted Vicky at the marketplace and alerted Mary. Mary went there, and it WAS Vicky! Vicky was brought home and lived on till a ripe old age.

The new Cat Stevens musical Moonshadow starts in Melbourne late May. The lead female of the musical, Gemma Ashley Kaplan is a HUGE Soi Dog Foundation supporter, she has been to the shelter and sponsors 8 of their dogs.
